»Silesian Court History and the French Impact on the Cross Roads of Prussian and Austrian Hegemonies«Following the Napoleonic wars, Prussia and Austria found themselves operating under two different legal systems. In Silesia, which was particularly affected by the rivalry between the two powers, a new procedure took the place of the old inquisitorial system. This paper looks at the extent to which the French-Napoleonic Codes shaped the Silesian reform debate in the field of legislature, science and legal practice.
