Miniscrews in orthodontics

Miniscrews are now widely accepted as a simple and effective tool for orthodontists to enhance anchorage. Miniscrews provide an alternative to conventional mechanics for anchorage control which has led to the expansion of implant technology in orthodontics. They can be placed in areas where naturalanchorage or conventional orthodontic appliances are impractical, including theedentulous spaces in the alveolus of either arch, the palate, the zygomatic process,the retromolar region and the ramus.
