Micromechanics of Composites

'Micromechanics of Composites' provides the tools for an estimate of mechanical and hygrothermal properties of fibre reinforced plastics (layers in multi-plied laminates), based on corresponding properties of their fibre and matrix constituent. Reinforcements enclosed are: unidirectional, swirled mat, woven fabric and particulate fillers. Fabric reinforcements may be hybrids of up to four different fibre types (two in warp and two in fill direction). Material's behavior is assumed to be linear-elastic, although the influence of nonlinarity on matrix dominated properties is investigated with undirectionally reinforced matrices, using a linear-elastic/perfectly-plastic constitutive law of the matrix.
