Market Communism

This book examines China's economic success against the backdrop of a communist system, and the pivotal role of state-owned enterprises. It argues that China's experience cannot be compared with others' in East Asia because of its planned ecconomy. The book explains the role of the "bureaucratic entrepreneurs" (government officials doing business) as a means of economic growth.
