Sometimes, if we listen carefully enough, we hear the forgotten songs of ourselves. In times of intense emotion, in loss, in despair, in love, lyric and score find their way to the page, take us by the hand and hold us upright when we most need it. Liver and Onions, heartsongs for the non-conformist, is a collection of life's challenges, spilled out on to the page, expressed through a writer's need and wish to order a cluttered mind. Unique to us, those songs are ours to claim, regardless of others' inability to understand when they appear disharmonious to an ear unwilling to listen. Who's to say what dreams are made of?
