Light, Dark and Colour

Activities in this pack, focusing on aspects of art and science, explore the various effects of light, including: colour mixing - using card spinners; shadows - making shadow puppets and shadow images using an OHP; photograms - using simple sunlight photography to make a postage stamp image; and candles - making medieval and modern candles. The series is designed to help teachers bring science topics to life through imaginative creative arts activites. Each card describes in detail activities which animate aspects of science topics using art, drama and dance. Designed for whole class or small group sessions, the pack should be of use to busy teachers looking for new ways to approach project work at Key Stage 2 and can also be used for Key Stage 1 classes.
