Letters From Gardenia

Letters From Gardenia is a collection of poetry geared towards self-discovery and healing. Denae attempts to draw the reader in by telling her story through a collection of poems, revealing more in each piece as the narrative continues on. The year 2015 embarked on an eye-opening experience when she blindly overdosed on prescription medication. To others, the severity of what one endures mentally only extends to what the eye can see. To many, psychosis only means an experience where someone is never really okay again. What often goes left unnoticed though is an entirely different perspective of what a person actually lives through, including the lengths it can take to come back from something like that. 

Not only does Denae feel that being understood could help her move on, she also feels a universal connection with words and the natural world, influencing her desire to help others. This second edition now being published on June 14, 2022 has been revised and expanded with poetry and photography that evolved with the writer over time. Some new and unseen, some integrated with previous work. All in all, it is a perfect combination of original authenticity and transformation to a new home.
