This book provides and investigation of how the investments in training to support leadership and management succession planning can be lost if proper communication of the succession goals does not occur. In this manuscript a mixed methods research study is conducted at a United States Department of Defense Scientific Organization that is actively planning for succession needed for a 35 percent leadership turnover.
