Vanilla is a vine grown across the globe for its flavour producing beans. Among the diseases on vanilla, stem rot caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. vanillae is the most important disease. During survey in vanilla growing districts, the disease incidence was ranged from 5.0 to 30%. FOV isolates exhibited variation to utilization of different nutrient sources. Among them sucrose favoured the growth. Potassium nitrate and L- asparagine were effective from the nitrogen sources. The temperature range 250C-300C and pH of 5.0 to 6.0 supported the growth. The maximum (35.920C) and minimum (18.780C) temperature coupled with maximum (62.70%) and minimum (57.10%) relative humidity supported the maximum disease development under field conditions. The bio-control of FOV, T. harzianum found effective in reducing the disease and fungicides viz, tricyclazole, carbendazim, cymoxanil+mancozeb, Bordeaux mixture and iprodione+ carbendazim were found effective inhibitory to FOV. Integrated management approaches like soil amendement with T. harzianum + carbendazim treatment followed by T. harzianum + hexaconazole and T. harzianum with cymoxanil + Mancozeb in farmer's field were found to be effective.
