Year 2023 is the centenary of discovery of Mohenjo Daro while Harappa was unearthed one year prior. But how much do we know about this great civilization? Instead of enlightening, the mysteries of the Indus Valley Civilization continue to baffle us, one of which is the fire worship. In the Vedas the essence of worship is the "Yajna", and we try to find its root in the Indus Civilization. But were the enigmatic fire-pits of the Harappans prototypes of the Yajna altars? Were the Harappans actually predecessors of the Vedic sages?
