The role of the sermon in a pastor's ministry is hard to over-emphasize. Not only is this the way most members get to know their pastor, but more importantly it is the place where week after week Christians hear about their Savior. Through his preaching, a pastor is to display Jesus to His people. In Jesus' Name is a collection of sermons for every Sunday of the Church Year, written by students and friends of Dr. Wilhelm Petersen in honor of his many years of service to the Evangelical Lutheran Synod and Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Seminary.
