TheHOMER simulation program was used as a technicaldesign tool. It also used to analyze the economicaland environmental aspects of the project. The I3Aframework proposed by Retnanestri (2007) was adoptedas a general criteria to enhance the sustainabilityof rural electrification programs in Indonesia.Although this book was based on the Riau Provincesituation, most of the procedures used here areapplicable for many rural areas of developing countries.
