The mixture of honey and vinegar as honey vinegar, in combination with water, is one of the Iranian's traditional syrups. Considering the therapeutic effect of honey and vinegar on anthropometric indices and metabolic profiles, we conducted a clinical trial to asses the effect of honey vinegar syrup on these parameters.The results showed that honey vinegar syrup in the received doses, had no significant effect on anthropometric indices, blood pressure, FBS, HOMAIR, LDLC and TG. A significant effect of HVS was found on increasing fasting insulin and HOMAIR and reduction in TC level only in intervention group. however, an unfavorable and significant reduction in HDLC level was also observed.
