Magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4) was successfully synthesized through Sol-gel method. The synthesized Magnetite nanoparticles characterized with TEM, EDAX, SEM, VSM and other techniques. Magnetite nanoparticles have been synthesized by sol-gel method demonstrated very good application in removal of discharged hexavalent chromium from wastewater, high surface area to volume ratio and high ability to absorption of Cr(VI) in basic pH . Since super paramagnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4) has magnetic property can be easily removed by simple magnetic field from wastewater.
