This book examines habitat selection and territoriality in the Northern Anteater chat (Myrmecocichla aethiops). It provides details about where the bird occurs, its foraging behaviour and the timing of its nesting. Point counts, territorial mapping, mist netting and direct focal observation were the key methods in this study. Most importantly, the book shows the importance of anthropogenic footprints (e.g. abandoned wells) in providing suitable nesting sites for Northern Anteater chats. The major finding from this book largely contributes to concept of habitat selection in African passerine birds.
