Grandma Whoople's "Community Beans Soup Story" will bring you the understanding of the people in your community and their purpose. I love the way Grandma Whoople embraced her granddaughter of teaching her the importance of each individual rather or not she understands their views or disagrees with their views. Trying to find solutions that will fit the needs of others by building "Unity" and place it in the CommUNITY!!! Grandma Whoople has created a Community Beans Soup Recipe in the book. This will give each child or family member the opportunity to sit at the table of UNITY and cook this delicious soup that will warm the heart as well as the body. I am so glad I had the opportunity to teach this in my classroom each year!!! Teaching the elements of caring, loving, sharing and looking for UNITY in OpportUNITY and in the CommUNITY!!! Alicia Kindred Edwards is an inspiring person who loves to illustrate. She is my daughter and is diagnosed with having a benign brain tumor. The brain tumor is lodged in the front of her forehead. They can't operate on her because they have a fear of her uncontrollable seizures and the fear is she can die on the surgery table. But, she is a gifted illustrator and we decided to team-up together and build UNITY through her drawings.
