As a defector forced to live undercover in her new home, she achieves the freedom and stability she craves, but her emotional and psychological psyche are still deeply scarred by her former life in the USSR. She finds a glimmer of emotional salvation through a chance meeting with a lifeguard on a Florida beach, but lets the opportunity slip away for fear of breaking her cover story and risking discovery by the KGB. But the chance meeting does not go unnoticed. Unknown to her, the Native American spirit realm intervenes and creates another opportunity for her rescue.
