Fearless Inanna

Inanna lives an idyllic life with her parents in a small house by the sea, but while she's away in the City a tiny dragon sneaks into their garden & bewitches them. At the behest of a peculiarly wise heron, Inanna sets out on an arduous trek fraught with hazards to find the dragon and restore her parents to life. Aided in her quest by an unlikely collection of allies-- a wild hyena, an old trader, three Old-world Goddesses, and a witch-- the girl prepares to meet her dragon through a series of encounters with a highwayman, an ambitious prince, and a mysterious & dangerous wizard. Her final confrontation, with a dragon now grown immense & powerful, is not what she expects. Using the ancient Sumerian Gilgamesh epic as a scaffolding for this feminst tale of heroism & courage, Fearless Inanna features twelve original illustrations, a map, and more than twenty pages of glossary for the more difficult vocabulary words for young readers.
