Family Christmas Songs

Christmas is a very special time. Our senses can be tickled by smells, tastes and sounds that both create new memories and evoke ones from our childhood.
An ocean of Christmas music has been recorded, much of it new but some very, very old. This book and CD contain a selection of famous and beloved songs. Many of these songs are usually sung in English, but a number of beautiful and sometimes forgotten versions are also available in Swedish. One example is 'Frosty the Snowman" known in Sweden as 'Snögubben Froste" which was recorded by Monica Lind in 1956.
Bilingual By Music aims to inspire language learning through music and songs. We feel that the songs that are sung in both languages act as a bridge between the cultures. While the melodies are the same, the lyrics change slightly to fit the different Christmas traditions and stories.
Illustrator Karin Dahlbacka has interpreted the lyrics and created some gorgeous illustrations that tell the stories of the songs in both languages.
