Families, Politics, and the Law

These essays, by a group of British and Polish lawyers and social scientists share a common concern with how the law both reflects and regulates the changing relationship between the individual, the family, and the state. In particular many of the essays look at what has been called, in both East and West, "privatisation" of the family and examine the fundamentally different ways in which this key political concept is used.
