Regardless of its physical dimensions, the excellence of cultural heritage depends entirely on its meaning and importance. It carries an essential message from its time to the future generations. Historic structures, buildings, sites and objects (works of art) are some of the most important resources and need to be preserved and protected. Cultural heritage can be viewed as a work of art representing its own time. It represents the culture and techniques of time along with the sentiment, intent and conscience of its designer, artist or craftsman. Important to any work of art or piece of cultural heritage is the recognition of its values and significance by the individuals or the society. Cultural legacy nation wide heritage is the legacy of material objects.
