Max Winthrop is a partner at Sintons LLP, a long establishedfirm in Newcastle upon Tyne. Max started his working life with a London basedconstruction industry trade association heavily involved in industrialrelations, before moving north and qualifying as a solicitor in 1991. Max’spractice involves all aspects of employment and discrimination law, and heregularly appears in tribunals though out the UK. Max has also taughtemployment law at the University of Northumbria and Durham and has extensive mediaexperience including being quoted in major news outlets and appearing onbroadcast media such as the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5. From 2017-2020 hechaired the Law Society’s Employment Law Committee and has recently beenre-appointed. In that capacity he gave evidence to the Women and EqualitiesSelect Committee on the use and abuse of confidentiality provision insettlement agreements.
