This generic qualitative study aimed to determine how health care providers (HCPs) use electronic health records (EHRs) in American Indian/Alaskan Native (AI/AN) tribally owned clinics. The research question guiding the study was, "How do HCPs use EHR systems in AI/AN tribally owned clinic?" To answer this research question, the study employed a generic qualitative methodology to gain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon. The researcher used a purposive sampling method to select the participants, consisting of 15 HCPs actively using EHR systems in tribally owned clinics in California. The selection criteria ensured that participants had a background in health care provision, relevant degrees in their field, and experience working with EHR systems.
