Pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp.) is one of the most important legume crop of the tropics and subtropics of Asia and Africa. India is the world's largest producer and consumer of pulses including pigeonpea. About 90 per cent of the global pigeonpea area (4.9 million ha.) is in India contributing to 93 per cent of the global production. The pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (Linn.)] crop is found to be badly affected by pod borer complex and is becoming a serious problem. The pod borer complex are responsible to cause direct damage to pods and grains resulting into, not only the grain yield loss but fodder too.. So present study was carried out with the objectives. To evaluate the effect of chemical molecule against pigeonpea pod borer complex, to find out the effect of newer molecules on the population of natural enemies of pigeonpea pod borer complex, to find out the effective time of application of insecticides and economics and ICBR of the treatments.
