Neonatal physiological jaundice although is a normal phenomenon in a neonate, however, if not well managed it can have a serious complication in the life of the child. For this reason, there is a need to educate the mother on early recognition and effective management of neonatal physiological jaundice. Complication such as kernicterus (brain damage) can affect the mental health of the child that can prevent the achievement of Millennium Development Goal 4.The aim of this project is to carry out health education on early recognition and management of neonatal physiological jaundice among caregivers with infants below 28 days. The objective of this study was to assess the knowledge, perception, and attitude of expectant mothers and mothers with an infant below 28 days on neonatal physiological jaundice and its management.
