Chronic myelogenous (or myeloid) leukemia (CML) is a cancer of the white blood cells. In CML, stem cells of bone marrow forms the abnormal white blood cells that interrupts the normal function of RBCs and normal WBCs. CML occurs due to Philadelphia chromosome (i.e. the result of chromosomal translocation) that governs the synthesis of oncoproteins, which is responsible for uncontrolled growth of abnormal WBCs. In the field of molecular modeling, docking is a method which predicts the preferred orientation of one molecule to a second when bound to each other to form a stable complex. In such a way here we will use this Knowledge of the preferred orientation in reference to oncoprotein and trying to design a potential ligand that interact with cancer causing protein and make it incompatible for their further functioning.
