Femto/Small cells are low powered Base Stations (BS) which customers/consumers can plug into their homes/offices and can enjoy full coverage of the cellular network. Operators can not only extend the coverage of the cellular network but also provide high data rates to users, while decreasing the overall energy expenditure. Moreover, operators can enhance their cellular infrastructure by minimizing the operations cost which they require to run a Base Tower Station (BTS).Small cell technology does have its shortcomings but with the proper network planning the benefits of this technology can be utilized to its maximum.
