Crticial Discourse Analysis of "In the Mirror of the Stream"

This book is about critical discourse analysis of a bilingual poetry book "In the Mirror of the Stream" which has been written by Mohammadreza Shafi'i Kadkani, translated by Pari Azarm Motamedi, and Edited by Professor Alan Williams. The researcher has applied Farzaneh Farahzad (2007) model to analyze the poetry book. The model- inspired by CDA-has micro and macro levels. Micro level includes everything in the text, while macro level includes everything about the text. The poet's ideology is also studied in this research. Shafi'i Kadkani uses elements of nature to covey his messages. His poems have humanitarian and social aspects. He knows Iranian and Islamic culture. This book is a new measure in introducing Shafi'i Kadkani to the world in English language. It can be used by poets, literary figures, students, and those who are interested in Iranian-Islamic culture. It can also be used by translators and linguistics. The researcher has also brought some watercolor paintings drawn by translator Azarm Motamedi. They have been inspired by the poetry of Shafi'i Kadkani.
