Sweetpotato is a starchy root crop. Its tops and storage roots are being consumed by human in various forms whereas its vines are feed of livestock. Chlorophylls and carotenoids, which take part in photosynthesis ultimately influence the growth, yield and nutrients content in both leaves and storage roots of sweetpotato. This book explains morphophysiological parameters, yield attributes, nutritional parameters viz. protein, carbohydrate, fat, total ash, crude fibre, starch, total sugar, total soluble solids, calorific value, antioxidant elements and mineral elements of leaves and storage roots, and chlorophyll components and carotenoids status of leaves of some local and exotic sweetpotato genotypes. It also explains the correlation of leaf chlorophylls and carotenoids with growth, yield and nutritional parameters of sweetpotato genotypes.
