The present study encompasses different Micro irrigation systems with focus on drip and sprinkler. Dealers of all Micro irrigation companies in four potential districts of Saurashtra i.e. Amreli, Bhavnagar, Junagadh and Rajkot were surveyed for data collection. Dealer's perception about MIS, different MIS players, farmers and business were studied. As for the key findings, the average sale by dealer was found highest in Jain irrigation which was Rs.163 lac covering 248 ha. Parixit had good number of dealers along with distribution network, which covered 22% of total dealers present. Some 34% of the dealers preferred good quality of the products & service provided by the company. Netafim provided 50% contribution to the dealer for conducting various promotional schemes. On the whole, the study brought to the fore that opportunities lie in the area of Rajkot and Amreli districts. Netafim is the major competitor in drip irrigation and Parixit is the major competitor in sprinkler irrigation. Overall Netafim, Parixit and Jain are top three MIS players in four districts. Netafim is top in sales, area covered and promotional activities apart from providing best services to the dealers.
