When Augie Cumpton comes home from Vietnam in 1970, he is damaged goods. He’s suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, but PTSD would not be designated as a medical condition until a decade later. So, Augie begins self-medicating with alcohol and drugs. Then an incident involving his family and The Mob presents a new and perilous problem for Augie.
