This book is a testament to his artistic legacy. Atlas/House presents a set of maps and coordinates to explore almost half a century of Jan Hendrixs multifaceted cartography; from his early years of training at the Jan van Eyck Academie, in his native Holland, to his most recent essays on shadows, the product of daily walks through Mexico City. A cartography composed of images and texts, arranged in the form of parallel essays: a whimsical set of illustrations of botany, landscape, nature, and poetry, accompanied by essays signed by some of Jan's distinguished colleagues in his career (Estrella de Diego, Patricia Sloane, Olivier Debroise, Issa Mara Bentez, Antonio Saborit, Cuauhtmoc Medina, Alejandro Hernndez, Javier Barreiro Cavestany, Jos Luis Barrios). Also included are short texts in which Hendrix reflects on his artistic practice and an introduction by Maco Snchez, editor of this publication, the result of a reading of the artist's extensive archive.
