He was numbered with the transgressors sinners so that he could take our sin away. He made intercession for us. Also it does say in the bible that Jesus died for you to break the power of sin in your life: "the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age", Galatians 1:3-4
