Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), is a disorder of the immune system that is characterised by excessive clotting of blood in the arteries and veins, and/or certain complications of pregnancy as recurrent miscarriages, unexplained fetal death, or premature birth with the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies like anti-cardiolipin or lupus anticoagulant antibodies in the blood.Antiphospholipid syndrome is classified into primary and secondary; the primary is referred to the condition that found in pregnant women with neither clinical nor laboratory evidence of another definite autoimmune condition. While, secondary APS is the condition that, associated with other diseases, mainly systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and also can be found in other autoimmune diseases, occasionally during infections, malignancies and in response to some types of drugs
