An orangutan stole my canoe is a collection of poetry written
with the greatest reverence for the way language can
sound. It is a reflection of fate, and which plans amount to
something, nature's obstacles, history's memory, the myth
of the greatest books never written. The poetry itself delves
into the darkest and funniest places Naomi Parkyn has
known, seen glimpses of or heard stifled and expressed by
the human mind because some of the most sly and cleverly
conceited language is found in the construction of excuses.
