?ad?th and Ethics through the Lens of Interdisciplinarity

This volume addresses the interplay of ?ad?th and ethics and contributes to examining the emerging field of ?ad?th-based ethics. The chapters cover four different sections: noble virtues (mak?rim al-akhl?q) and virtuous acts (fa???il al-a?m?l); concepts (adab, ta?b?b, ?uzla); disciplines (?ad?th transmission, gender ethics); and individual and key traditions (the ?ad?th of intention, consult your heart, key ?ad?ths). The volume concludes with a chronologically ordered annotated bibliography of the key primary sources in the Islamic tradition with relevance to understanding the interplay of ?ad?th and ethics.
