Adolescence is a period of formative years, during which an individual faces changes and challenges in different aspects of development. This is usually a period that involves exploration of new social relations. Consequently relationship between adolescents and their parents undergoes a significant change, nevertheless parental role in adolescent's life in this period of upheaval assumes a greater significance. Relation between psycho social well being of adolescents and parenting behavior adopted by their mothers has been explored. Mental health status, emotional maturity and satisfaction with life were the measures of psycho social well being that were evaluated and parenting behavior was assessed by measuring positive and negative dimensions of parenting. Statistical measures were used to study the relationship between parenting behavior and adolescent psycho social well being. Gender based differences were taken into consideration while studying both psycho social well-being of adolescents and parenting behavior adopted by the mothers.
