A picture of the world and the man in Russian village prose

The works of F. Abramov, V. Astafyev, V. Belov, V. Rasputin, V. Shukshin created in 1970s are considered in the monograph through the prism of the picture of the world and the man. The creative heritage of writers is studied in a broad socio-historical context. The author analyzes the evolution of the heroes of village prose in relation to the crisis stages of social development of the country, traced the reflection of the dramatic breakdown of Russian life in the twentieth century through the portrayal of personality.
