A Bitter Taste is a gripping true-to-life story of a promising life frittered away by an encompassing addiction of cocaine but, through perseverance, was retrieved from its ashes relying on her faith in God. Discovering her sexuality at ten in the hands of an older woman, Sandy struggled to keep her attraction of love for women from her family. Though she found love with a man, it came to a bad end and she swore to raise her son on her own. However, her life spiraled down as her marijuana habit soon introduced her to her "wife"-crack cocaine. Her raging addiction only led her to more heartache, sacrifices, abject poverty, petty crimes, and the death of her unborn son.
