This year marks the 200-year anniversary of Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. The book is often described as the very first Sci-Fi novel, yet despite the time that has passed it is still relevant and reverred today.

Science and fiction have often consociated within the Sci-Fi genre. Writers and filmmakers have sought help from scientists in order to place their stories in environments as accurately as possible. Sci-Fi is a sprawling and fascinating cultural discourse within which real and fictional concepts of the world are allowed to converge. Cosmologic Arrows, (the working title loosely borrowed from the book A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking) highlights the possibilites for artists to use space and the Sci-Fi genre as an imaginary laboratory from which discussions about the ethical, moral and political dilemmas of our time can unfold. It presents works by approximately eight - ten artists, all relating to concepts and visions regarding space, cosmology, futurism, artificial intelligence, and genetics.
