Liv Jones knows a lot about betrayal - most of her life has been a lie. On the eve of her wedding, she discovered she was adopted - and that her biological parents were convicted serial killers. Not only that, she has the power to read portents - ominous signs that she might be in danger.

In the last year Liv has adapted to a new life, solving crimes with her (sort of) friend and boss Gabriel Walsh - a lawyer with quick fists and a complex relationship with the truth. She's also found love in the form of biker Ricky Gallagher. But this brief period of peace is soon shattered by murder. And when her friendship with Gabriel is tested to the limit, Liv finds she has been betrayed again.
