In Becoming: A Philosophical Treaties on Human Potential, Dr. Glenn Rogers deals with a variety subjects found in most Philosophy of Religion texts (the existence of God, the immortality of the soul, human nature, the problem of evil, moral philosophy) but does so in the larger context of discussing human potential. As an acorn has the potential to become an oak, humans have the potential to become much more than we are at present. Interacting with the great philosophical minds of the past (Parmenides, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Descarte, Kant) as well as contemporary philosophers (Plantinga, Swinburne, Chalmers, Pojman) Rogers constructs a framework for thinking that allows readers to consider human potential in light of human origins, human nature, and human purpose.
